On the morning of July 1, 2026, Shandong Xiehe University and SEGi University held an online meeting to advance discussions on establishing a Sino foreign cooperative education institution. The two sides engaged in in depth talks on programme offerings, the progress of application materials, and future mutual visit plans.

      Representing SEGi University at the meeting were Datin Prof. Dr. Mariani Binti Md Nor (VC); Prof. Dr. Srikumar Chakravarthi (DVC); Ir. Ts. Najmi Haziq Bin Badrulhisam (Programme Leader for Mechanical Engineering and Certificate of Welding Technology); Vinukumar Luckose (Programme Leader for Electrical & Electronics Engineering); Dr. Siti Norbaya Binti Daud (Programme Leader for IT); Assistant Prof. Dr. Chok Nyen Vui (Dean of the Faculty of Business, Accountancy & Law); Ir. Dr. Tan Yong Chai (Representative of China Office); as well as Andy Zhao, Alex Zhang, Anran Wang and Wenting Gao (also Representatives of the China Office).

      Representing Shandong Xiehe University were President Mr. Chuan'an Zhou; Vice Presidents Mr. Huiji Xu (in charge of the School of Business), Mr. Hengji Hu (in charge of the School of Computer Science), and Ms. Hui Zhu (in charge of the School of Engineering Science); Vice Dean of the School of Engineering Science Ms. Huikun Hao; Vice Dean of the School of Business Ms. Na Wei; Dean of the School of Computer Science Ms. Qun Wang; Director of the International Office Mr. Charlie Zhou; and Deputy Director Ms. Betty Niu.

      During the meeting, President Zhou delivered a welcome address and presented a promotional video of Shandong Xiehe University. Subsequently, Datin Prof. Dr. Mariani Binti Md Nor gave an overview of SEGi University.

      During the discussion on the cooperative education institution, the two parties not only confirmed the four proposed cooperative programmes, but also exchanged updates on the preparation progress of the application materials and the anticipated completion timelines, and discussed plans for future mutual visits between the two universities.

      This online meeting marks another significant step forward in the cooperative education partnership between the two universities, following the previous visit of SEGi University's leadership to Shandong Xiehe University in 2016. Both sides expressed their commitment to accelerating the application process for the cooperative education institution, with the shared goal of jointly establishing a high quality Sino foreign cooperative education programme that will provide a broader international exchange platform for faculty and students of both institutions.

Both sides expressed their commitment to accelerating the application process for the cooperative education institution, with the shared goal of establishing a highquality Sino foreign collaborative programme that will provide a broader international platform for faculty and students of both institutions.

      SEGi University is a comprehensive private university in Malaysia, founded in 1977. It has six campuses and offers nearly 200 undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes, with approximately 18,000 students enrolled.
